THE
MONASHEE CHALET is accessible by Snow-Cat or Skidoo. The following
are directions to the point of pick up.
From
Vancouver (Kamloops, Clearwater etc.)
Travel North on Highway No. 5 - Yellowhead Highway. Take the turn-off
for the Forest Service Access Road - 120km (75miles) from the
town of Clearwater.
From North (Edmonton, Blue River, Valemont etc.)
Travel South on Highway No. 5. Take the turn-off for the Forest
Service Access - 20km (12 miles) from the town of Blue River.
From the Highway to the Chalet
Once you turn off the highway, you may have to drive up a winter
logging road to the Snowcat landing. Depending on forestry operations
for the year, the drive ranges from 1 to 10 km. Guests will be
updated closer to their arrival date.
The Snow-Cat ride is approximately 2 hours from the end of the
logging road to the Monashee Chalet.
Other Details
Chains are highly recommended for driving on this logging road.
A 4-wheel drive is recommended, but not mandatory - a good 2-wheel
drive with chains and competent driver should have no problems
getting up the winter logging road.
Upon booking you will be supplied with a detailed map and directions
to the chalet and updates on the road and snow conditions.
