GROUPS
USING THE MONASHEE CHALET are expected to have experience
and skills within their group that are necessary for the safe
participation in activities in the backcountry.
To
avert accidents and assist you in case of emergency we supply:
Smoke detectors
Fire extinguishers
Rescue toboggan
Splints and neck collars
Level II First-Aid Kit in chalet and
Snow-cat 2-way VHF radio with instructions
Open flame devices and smoking are not permitted in the chalet
at any time.
In the event of an emergency, guests are instructed to use the
VHF radio in the Chalet to contact Clearwater Answering and inform
them of the emergency. Clearwater Answering is monitored 24 hours
a day.
Individuals are responsible for the cost of helicopter evacuation
should it be necessary. Canadian Medical Services Plans will cover
those with current provincial coverage.
Dress for the weather - use the layer principle - shell + insulation
+ quick dry. The range of winter temperatures is -40 to +5 degrees
C.
